I really liked this class every module I did I felt as
though I was learning more then I possibly could on my own. My favorite module
was probably the HTML module. Though I could never get the picture working I thought
it was super cool how I could type up some code and it would appear on a
website looking totally different. I am still playing around with HTML now
because of how much fun I had using it and customizing everything. Though its
super confusing at first it gets somewhat easier after and with the help of the
videos posted it was absolute cake. One thing I did not like about the module
was the Google Sites project, where I created this https://sites.google.com/site/willswebpubsite/
. It was not my favorite because it honestly confused the crap out of me, and
the directions were helpful but they were not as specific as the previous projects.
I must have created five different sites for that project because of how many
times I messed up and had to restart. It was so complicated to me that I could
not even delete the sites that I messed up on. I think I will probably end up
using a little bit of everything I learned moving on and I might even come back
to the main page for this course to refresh my memory on some of the things I learned.
I plan on making some web sites in the future for events I might host or for business
ventures I might have and having the tools taught in this course will definitely
come in handy while making those sites. When I first started this course I was
nervous that it would be too hard or that it would end up being like another WRD/CIS
class where we have to make a blog and write a thousand different posts. I was
happy to find out that even though some of the stuff we learned was complicated
the instructions and videos were clear enough to where even I could figure them
out, and that even though we had to write a little about each project, it was
all worth it because you would be posting what you type on something you created
minutes earlier. So this class really blew my expectations out of the water as
far as they went for me and I’m sure that for most people in the class that
they feel the same way. I definitely liked this class and will recommend it to
my buddies or to anyone who is interested in the future.

My Blogging Experience
My blogging experience was a good one. I had used blogger
before for WRD110 and I liked using it then. I did not have trouble getting my
blog set up or getting started with my first blog post because everything is
set up for you right there and very straight forward (more so than the other
projects we have done). The blogger sites aren’t super customizable like the
other sites either but I didn’t mind that, it made it like the Facebook of
blogs. I simplicity was a refreshing change from what we have been doing and because
there really want much customization at all I could focus on my blog. I feel
that even though this is a simplistic style blog it can be a very useful tool
for beginners on how to use a blog before they get into building their own
site. Overall I would say blogger is a really cool site for beginners and
having a blogger account may actually be an important step in building up your
own blog to something big. I feel that it is this way because of its simplicity
and its only real focus being the blog posts and not how the blog looks.

My Freshman Year
My first year at UK was a blast. I was so green in my youth
when I first came here that every opportunity and experience was golden to me.
As I sit here writing this, however, I realize that though I clung to my fresh
start at first I was slowly letting it go. I was re-experiencing the world and
it was amazing, but deep down I knew it couldn’t stay that way. So I soon found
myself doing the same thing over and over again. My loss in vigor was upsetting
and I felt the new me grieving. But in the end I suppose everything that was
once new becomes old, like dawn too day….and that nothing new could stay that
way.
My inspiration for this was Robert Frost’s: Nothing gold can
stay
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
As if it wasn’t already really obvious…
